Private Residence, Muswell Hill, London

Grand Design Blinds were chosen to install venetian blinds as part of a kitchen extension at a North London house. Retired couple Dr and Mrs E. had lived in their beautiful Victorian house for over 40 years when they decided to have a kitchen extension. The extension was designed in a way that the view from the main part of the house was not impeded by it. This entailed sloping triangular windows as well as a tapering floor plan.

Like many people, they first approached a well-known Partnership department store chain. But when they were unable to assist, Mrs E. found Grand Design Blinds. After some collaboration a solution was made and Mrs E decided on shaped venetian blinds in 25mm high-quality aluminium, painted white. Once installed, Mrs E declared she “couldn’t be more pleased” with the result.

Grand Design Blinds supplied and installed 6 venetian blinds to the windows and 1 cord-tensioned 20mm pleated blind to the back door (because its frequent opening suited a tensioned fabric blind better than a free-hanging metal one). The lead time was 4 weeks from order and 50% deposit for installation in time for Christmas.
